Happy Sunday Morning.
I hope you can feel the unique peace that a Sunday brings.
Today is different from every other day in our challenge.
It's a day for a deeper kind of work.
The work on our spirit and our strategy.
Many of you have been planting seeds all week, sending out applications and reaching out on LinkedIn.
Now, you might be sitting in the quiet waiting period, which can be tough.
This is where we pair prayer with a plan and faith with a follow-up.
Today, we refuel our inner strength to handle silence and rejection, and we learn the gentle, professional art of the follow-up to break that silence with confidence.
Your Sunday Playbook: Inner Strength & Outer Action
Today’s task combines resetting your mindset and taking one brave, strategic action.
This is how you build the fortitude to not just survive the job search, but to thrive in it.
Part 1: The Inner Work (Prayer & The Mindset Reset)
Step 1: A Moment for Reflection
Before anything else, take a few quiet moments for yourself.
Whether it’s prayer, meditation, or simply sitting in silence, reconnect with your "why."
Why did you start this challenge?
Who are you doing this for?
Remind yourself of the bigger purpose driving you.
This is the source of your strength.
Step 2: Practice Active Gratitude
Open a notebook and write down three things you’re genuinely grateful for on this journey so far.
It could be a new skill you learned, or the courage you've shown by just being here.
Gratitude is a powerful antidote to the poison of disappointment.
Part 2: The Outer Work (The Fearless Follow-Up)
Why Follow Up?
Because most people don’t.
Sending a follow-up email shows you’re still highly interested.
It brings your name back to the top of a busy recruiter's inbox and helps you stand out from passive applicants.
When to Follow Up?
The simple rule: 5-7 business days after submitting your application.
How to Follow Up (The Simple Template)
You’re not being pushy; you’re being professional.
Subject: Following up on my application for the [Job Title] role
Body:
"Dear [Hiring Manager Name, or "Hiring Team"],
I hope you’re having a great week.
I’m writing to briefly follow up on my application for the [Job Title] position I submitted last [Day, e.g., Tuesday]. My passion for [mention a key aspect of the role, e.g., creating great user experiences] and my skills in [mention 1-2 of your top skills] align perfectly with the job description.
I’m still very enthusiastic about the opportunity to bring value to your team. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
[Your Name]"
The Resilience Playbook: How to Process ‘No’ and Keep Moving Forward
Feeling disappointed after rejection is normal; staying disappointed is a choice.
Today, your task isn’t to apply for jobs but to build a mental system that will carry you through this challenge and your career.
Part 1: A New Way to Think About Rejection
Step 1: Give It a 24-Hour Limit
It’s okay to feel disappointed.
Give yourself one day to feel it, talk about it, or write it down.
After 24 hours, decide to let it go and focus on the next opportunity.
No dwelling allowed.
Step 2: Reframe It: It's a Puzzle, Not a Verdict
A “no” isn’t a judgment of your worth.
It means your “key” (your application) didn’t fit that specific “lock” (that job).
Ask yourself: Was it the right role for my skills?
Did I customise my CV enough?

Step 3: Gamify It: Collect "No"s
This sounds crazy, but it works.
Set a goal to collect 10 "no's." (I used to print regret e-mails & letters for safe keeping)
Why?
Because it normalises rejection and turns it into a game.
You start to understand that for every 10 or 20 "no's," a "yes" is hiding somewhere.
Every "no" you collect is a step closer to that yes.
Part 2: Building Unstoppable Consistency
Step 1: Define Your Tiny Daily Goal
Forget "applying for 3 jobs" if that feels too big today.
What’s the smallest action you can commit to daily?
Maybe it’s just "comment on 2 LinkedIn posts" or "find one interesting company to research."
Make the goal so easy you can do it even on your worst day.
Step 2: Don't Break the Chain
Get a calendar and put a big, satisfying 'X' on every day you complete your tiny goal.
After a few days, you'll have a chain of X's.
Your only job is not to break the chain.
This visual proof of your consistency is incredibly powerful and builds momentum automatically.

There’s a kind of magic when you combine inner belief with practical action.
Quiet moments of prayer and reflection build the fortitude you need to handle the emotional ups and downs of the job search.
