3. LISTEN TO AN AUDIO REPLAY ON JOB SCAMS by Mark Anthony Dyson from The Job Scam Report

   Last week’s episode of The Job Scam Report podcast is an audio replay of my LinkedIn Live with Jay Jones and Ashley Price-Horton. If you prefer the video version of the show, you can watch and listen at your convenience.

   

   Here are some of the show’s highlights:

   • Jay describes fake employment as disappearing as fast as it’s created. Scammers reinvent themselves constantly, making it hard to keep them at bay.

   • Ashley tells the story of someone in her private community whose savings were wiped out.

   • Scammers use AI and job scrapers.

   • When you're desperate, you're in a certain mindset, and desperation clouds your judgment.

   • Never entertain a job offer from someone using a Gmail account.

   • Anyone can add jobs to their site without accountability or confirming the job’s validity.

   • Applying to hundreds of jobs monthly makes you vulnerable to job scams.

   • If there are messages from numerous recruiters from the same company, it’s likely a scam.

4. REMOTE JOB OPPORTUNITIES by Harlow

   Content:

   The Ascent team is looking for a freelance personal finance writer who can devote at least ~15 hrs/week to content. This role is flexible & remote, but they’re only accepting US candidates. They pay $100/hr for updates to existing content and anywhere from $150-$500 for articles and product reviews.

   Mossy Point Publishing is looking for freelance writers to research and author articles for The Hellfighter, a digital magazine that spotlights African American historical & military figures.
